Treatment overview
Microneedling at Olive Skin & Aesthetics harnesses the skinโs natural healing response to improve texture, tone, and scarring. We use medical-grade devices with adjustable needle depths to deliver controlled micro-injuries that stimulate collagen and elastin production.
This versatile treatment targets acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, and uneven pigmentation. A series of sessions produces progressive skin remodelling, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin.
- Adults with acne scarring, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or stretch marks
- Individuals with dull, textured skin seeking overall complexion improvement
- Patients who want to boost the penetration and efficacy of topical serums
- Those with early signs of ageing such as fine lines and mild skin laxity
- People of all skin tones โ microneedling carries a low risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation compared to laser treatments
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied for 20โ30 minutes before the session. The treatment itself takes approximately 30โ45 minutes depending on the area covered, using a motorised pen device with sterile single-use needle cartridges.
We adjust needle depth (0.5โ2.5 mm) based on skin thickness and the concern being treated. A customised serum โ such as hyaluronic acid or growth factors โ is applied during the procedure to infuse active ingredients deep into the micro-channels for enhanced results.
- Immediately after: Skin appears red and feels warm, similar to moderate sunburn; this is a normal inflammatory response.
- Day 1โ2: Redness fades to a pink flush; mild tightness and dryness may occur. Gentle hydrating products are recommended.
- Day 3โ5: Skin may lightly flake as it renews; avoid active ingredients (retinol, AHAs) until cleared by your practitioner.
- Week 1โ2: Skin texture begins to improve; a healthy glow becomes apparent as new collagen forms.
- Week 4โ6: Optimal time for the next session in a course. Cumulative improvement continues with each treatment (3โ6 sessions recommended).
