Treatment overview
A 360 Body Lift โ also known as a circumferential body lift or belt lipectomy โ is a transformative procedure that addresses sagging skin and loss of contour around the entire circumference of the torso. At Olive Skin & Aesthetics, We perform this procedure with meticulous attention to scar placement and tissue handling, ensuring the most natural And proportionate outcome.
The procedure simultaneously lifts and tightens the abdomen, flanks, lower back, buttocks, and outer thighs in a single circumferential excision โ making it the most comprehensive body reshaping option available. It is most commonly indicated for patients who have lost a significant amount of weight and are left with extensive excess skin that causes functional discomfort, hygiene concerns, and profound dissatisfaction with their body image.
The results are dramatic and long-lasting: a smooth, lifted silhouette that extends all the way around the body, restoring proportion and confidence that significant weight loss alone cannot achieve.
- Adults who have achieved significant weight loss โ either through bariatric surgery or lifestyle changes โ and are left with substantial excess skin around the torso
- Patients who have maintained a stable weight for a minimum of 12โ18 months following their weight loss
- Individuals with good nutritional status, as extensive surgery requires robust healing capacity
- Non-smokers, or patients who have completely stopped smoking for at least 6 weeks before and after surgery
- Those with realistic expectations about scarring โ a circumferential scar around the lower torso is an inherent and unavoidable part of this procedure
- Patients who have completed family planning, as pregnancy after a 360 lift is strongly discouraged
- Adults psychologically prepared for an extended recovery period and the lifestyle adjustments it requires
The 360 Body Lift is performed under general anaesthesia and typically takes 4โ6 hours, requiring an inpatient stay of 2โ3 nights. The procedure is planned meticulously in the pre-operative assessment, with marking the skin in a standing position to ensure optimal scar placement and tissue redistribution.
The surgery involves removing a circumferential band of excess skin and fat from around the lower torso. The abdominal component addresses the lower abdomen and flanks; the posterior component simultaneously lifts the buttocks, outer thighs, and lower back. Liposuction may be used to further refine areas above and below the excision zone where necessary.
Closure is performed in multiple tension-relieving layers to distribute tension evenly, minimise scar widening, and support the newly elevated tissues. Drains are placed and a compression garment is applied before the patient is woken from anaesthesia.
- Days 1โ3 (hospital): Close monitoring, IV fluids, and pain management. Drains in place. Light mobility โ short walks โ begun on day 1 to reduce clot risk.
- Week 1โ2: Discharge home with drains. Rest with assistance required. Compression garment worn continuously. No driving or strenuous activity.
- Weeks 3โ6: Drains removed. Swelling and bruising subside progressively. Light daily activities resume. Avoid lifting anything over 5 kg.
- Months 2โ3: Most swelling resolved. Contour improvements clearly visible. Light exercise permitted. Return to most desk-based work.
- Months 4โ6: Scar matures and softens. Full result emerges. Gym and vigorous exercise resumed with surgical clearance.
- Month 6+: Final result. Scars continue to fade for 12โ18 months. Annual follow-up recommended.
