Treatment overview
Chemical peel treatments at Olive Skin & Aesthetics use medical-grade acids to resurface the skin, revealing a brighter, smoother complexion beneath. We select the appropriate peel depth โ superficial, medium, or deep โ based on each patientโs skin type, concerns, and tolerance.
Peels effectively target hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, fine lines, and uneven texture by accelerating cellular turnover. A tailored peel protocol delivers visible improvement with each session and cumulative benefits over a course.
- Adults with hyperpigmentation, melasma, or sun-induced discolouration
- Individuals with mild to moderate acne scarring or post-inflammatory marks
- Patients seeking to improve dull, rough, or uneven skin texture
- Those with fine lines and early photoageing who want a non-invasive resurfacing option
- People committed to post-peel sun protection and aftercare compliance
No anaesthesia is typically required for superficial peels; medium-depth peels may involve a topical numbing agent. The application takes 15โ30 minutes โ the acid solution is applied in controlled layers and neutralised or allowed to self-neutralise based on the formulation.
We use a progressive layering technique, monitoring the skinโs frost response to control penetration depth accurately. Combination peels (e.g., modified Jessnerโs followed by TCA) may be used for resistant pigmentation or deeper scarring.
- Day 1โ2: Skin feels tight and may appear darker or slightly red depending on peel depth; mild stinging is normal.
- Day 3โ5: Peeling and flaking begins; do not pick or pull shedding skin to avoid scarring.
- Day 5โ7: Majority of peeling completes for superficial peels; fresh, pink skin is revealed beneath.
- Week 2: New skin normalises in colour; rigorous SPF 50 application is essential to protect the renewed surface.
- Week 4โ6: Ideal time for the next peel in a course (3โ6 sessions recommended for optimal cumulative results).
